John Marchese devotes most of his
practice to litigating municipal liability and
complex environmental matters including cases arising under
CERCLA, the New York State Navigation Law, the Clean Water Act
and cases involving common law toxic torts. John also has
extensive experience litigating business and
commercial disputes, construction
accident litigation and product liability claims. John
counsels several municipal clients and governmental entities
regarding risk management and other legal and legislative
issues. John has argued extensively in state and federal
trial and appellate courts throughout New York State and
Pennsylvania and still maintains an active practice in
Pennsylvania.
In addition to his legal practice,
John is a member of the Board of Directors and past President of
STAR Swimming, Inc. John was
instrumental in negotiating and implementing an historic
partnership between STAR and Erie Community College that
attracts national swim meets to the Buffalo area resulting in an
economic impact of $2.8 million annually. John also serves
on the Legislation and By-Laws Committee of the Niagara
District, the local governing body for USA Swimming and is a
Certified National Swimming Official.
