Gillian
Brown joined the firm in 2008 with over a decade of experience
in housing and other real estate development, construction law
matters, criminal defense, and municipal law. Prior to
joining Colucci & Gallaher, Gillian Brown spent twelve years as
General Counsel to the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority (BMHA),
the last two years as the BMHA Executive Director. Gillian
has represented public and private property owners on matters
ranging from ordinance violations and real estate transactions
to low-income housing tax credit transactions. While at the BMHA,
Gillian organized the City of Buffalo's first federal HOPE VI
grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This $28 million allocation, successfully leveraged into more
than $80 million, was used to completely redevelop the BMHA
Lakeview Homes on Buffalo's Lower West Side.
